Renting...

Hi!
I am looking to rent an apt, room, or basement in or near alexandria. I have a labrador retriever who will be moving with me. We are both quiet and we have a great rental history. I am a single female looking for save money to eventually buy a house so I am looking to pay under $1000/month. Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions of places I could look to rent. I have tried rent.com, apartments.com, craigslist, and the washingtonpost.

You probably won't find anything in Old Town for under $1,000, but there are other places that are a little cheaper. If you don't mind living in Fairfax County then I recommend taking a look at Kings Gardens apartment on South Kings Highway in the Huntington area which is just outside of Alexandria. They're pretty large apartments for the price. I lived there for a year and was pretty comfortable. I just wanted to move a little closer to my job and a little further up in the world and that's why I moved.
